I can't say this works every time for me. If I tap and hold near the bottom of
the screen, that's just where my messages app is in the doc. Its just above the
home button with no spaced below it.
I did get it to work once, but spent the next three minutes with no success.

Hi, John. As noted in another message, my messages app is just above the home
button. If I tap and hold, it wants to move the icons in the doc. It would
still be faster to just touch the top of the screen and then do the three
finger swipe upgrin.
The problem as I see it is this method isn't
That means, you are using the double tap and hold. It is a touch and hold. Not
a double tap and hold.

Hi, guys. On the mac accessibility podcast, they were talking about an
alternative method for bringing up the control center using one finger.
It sounded like they suggested tapping and holding just above the home button
then sliding one finger up to bring up the control center.
I can't get that
Hi Paul,
You don’t actually tap and hold. You slowly slide your finger up from the
home button until you hear the same sound you would normally hear when you
double tap and hold. At that point, slide one finger straight up. I will tell
you that I have found this gesture difficult to
Just remember that you need to be on a home page and not in an app.

Hi Tom,
Not true, you can touch the bottom of the screen in any app or the lock
screen and when you hear the double tone swipe up and the control center
will come up. Works for me every time and so far in every appp where I have
done that. It would hardly be much of a time saver if you had to

Not true at all. When you are inside an app, simply touch and hold for a
second or two on the status bar at the top of the screen until you hear a
sound, then swipe up with three fingers to bring the control center up. No
need to be on the home screen.

Actually, the gesture works in apps as well as from the home screens. The trick
is touching the bottom of the display, where the delete button in mail is, for
one to two seconds, without moving the finger. In other words, touch and hold
until the two ascending tones is heard. After hearing the
The trick is to touch and hold the bottom of the display, not slide the finger
onto the bottom of the display.

It works either way for me, either touch or touch the home key and slide up

Hi Tara,
I can't really tell you what you are doing or not doing to bring up the
control center, but you should definitely be able to bring it up if you
touch the time in the status bar and then do a 3-finger swipe up the screen
similarly how you do a 3-finger swipe down the screen to bring up
