Re: iMessage screen effects are working

2016-09-16 Thread Lynette frison

Hi Lelia,

Digital touch is more difficult. You double tap on digital touch, then double
tap on the canvas and voiceover will say "start drawing". You can sketch with
one finger on the screen, tap with one finger to send a tap, tap and hold with
2 fingers to send a heartbeat, and so on. It seems to be hit or miss for me. My
phone doesn't always recognize that I am using 2 fingers. Many times, I end of
sending a fire ball instead of a heartbeat because a fire ball is hold with one
finger, and a heartbeat is two fingers. So, for now, I've left digital touch
alone. Maybe I'll play with it more down the road.

I find that VO has some major focus issues in the messages app, so I'm not sure
if that has something to do with it or not.

You must double tap and hold the send button. Otherwise, yes it just sends. I
generally prefer to leave the motion off becaue it slows down performance with
some apps so it's too bad there's not an easy way to turn it off and on while
you send a message.

Re: iMessage screen effects are working

2016-09-16 Thread Lynette frison

Jennifer,

I figured out how to send a message with shooting stars. Once you bring up the
effects screen, double tap on the screen button right next to the bubble
button. If you swipe left, VO will say, "send with balloons". Keep swiping
left, and VO will announce a close button. Swiping left one more time will
bring up a picker list with 5 items in it. I flicked up with one finger until I
found shooting star which is the last item in the list. Then, I double tapped
send with shooting stars. I hope this helps. :)

Unfortunately, the friend I was testing it on, went mental with

Still, even that, said message sent with fireworks. They use

As I know, if you have iPhone without 3D Touch you need to
double tap and hold and if you do have 3D Touch you need to
force it down, double tap and hold wont work on 3D Touch
  enabled models.
When you activate the effects menu (sort of) you have a
choice between screen and balloon. I apologise if the
translations are not correct. Screen choice means effect in
full screen mode while balloon effects means a balloon
  animation or something.
Depending on a chosen option there are different effect
lists. In first case there is a list with crash, loud, gentle,
invisible ink etc displayed as a list.
In second case you need to find a picker with several effects
and after you flick the desired effect you need to hit the

I have some sight left and from what I saw, this effects,

Hi all,

For those of you who couldn't get i Message effects (e.g., invisible

ink, balloons, etc), to work, I may have the solution. Turn off reduce

motion in accessibility settings. Now, after you type your message,

double tap and hold on the send button and the effects screen will pop

up. I just tried this and it works beautifully. I sent a message and

voiceover even announced the effect I had chosen. Now, if only there

was a way to make digital touch features more accessible, like if

someone sends you their heartbeat, it would be nice if VO could

announce that. Obviously, it wouldn't be able to interpret a sketch or

handwriting, but if it said sketch, heartbeat, tap, etc, at least then we'd
have a better idea what was being sent.

Lynette!!!
You're awesome!!! But, my next question? How do I get past the invisible ink,
scream, etc and get to the shooting star, fireworks etc? I have friends that
have sent those to me but I haven't had any luck viewing them. Now that I can
send the effects I wanna send them back like the ones they're sending me.
Again, thank you so much!!

Hi!
I'll confirm on this one so you can disregard my last message in
  another thread.
As I know, if you have iPhone without 3D Touch you need to double
tap and hold and if you do have 3D Touch you need to force it
down, double tap and hold wont work on 3D Touch enabled models.
When you activate the effects menu (sort of) you have a choice
between screen and balloon. I apologise if the translations are
not correct. Screen choice means effect in full screen mode while
balloon effects means a balloon animation or something.
Depending on a chosen option there are different effect lists. In
first case there is a list with crash, loud, gentle, invisible ink
  etc displayed as a list.
In second case you need to find a picker with several effects and
after you flick the desired effect you need to hit the send
  button.
I have some sight left and from what I saw, this effects,
especially full screen ones are really crazy andsightedfolks are
  gonna love it.

Lastly, I discovered that if you swipe down on a message there is now a "Reaction" option part of the rotor, double tap on this and you can give the message a thumbs up, thumbs down, "HaHa" and some other stuff. I did this to her reply and it then said that I "liked" her message, seems to be similar to how you can react to posts of Facebook.

Hi, you can either send things in a little bubble, or in a full screen effect.
Full screen effects have sounds, too. Hope this explains the options.

Hi, After you select, say, bubble, you need to find the send button, activate

Re: iMessage screen effects are working

2016-09-15 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
I must be missing something, wen I press and hold the send button in an I
Message I get a window with things like: Bubble Slam and so on. If I double
tap on bubble VO says it is selected but the window does not go away. What am
I missing here?

Thanks.

You must double tap and hold the send button. Otherwise, yes it just
sends. I generally prefer to leave the motion off becaue it slows down
performance with some apps so it's too bad there's not an easy way to
turn it off and on while you send a message.

RE: iMessage screen effects are working

2016-09-15 Thread Suzanne Wilson
Sadly, I followed your suggestion to the letter and it didn't work for me. I
double tap the send button but nothing pops up. As soon as I lift my finger,
the message is sent.

Hi all,

For those of you who couldn't get i Message effects (e.g., invisible ink,
balloons, etc), to work, I may have the solution. Turn off reduce motion in
accessibility settings. Now, after you type your message, double tap and hold
on the send button and the effects screen will pop up. I just tried this and it
works beautifully. I sent a message and voiceover even announced the effect I
had chosen. Now, if only there was a way to make digital touch features more
accessible, like if someone sends you their heartbeat, it would be nice if VO
could announce that. Obviously, it wouldn't be able to interpret a sketch or
handwriting, but if it said sketch, heartbeat, tap, etc, at least then we'd
have a better idea what was being sent.
