Hi all. I tend to agree that listening through the app on my phone is better
and more reliable. However, I have had some success asking Alexa to ask Anypod
to play a named podcast. The trouble with Alexa is having to remember the name
of the skill as well as the name of the podcast. I hope that
Nearby Explorer is not fully functional in the UK as yet. I contacted them two
weeks ago and they say they are building a UK version. When it comes out I will
probably buy it as it looks like it does what I want.
I have got the Nearby Explorer Online version, which shows what it will be

Hi, Can’t help with direct tv, but I think once you get to the “one of four”
point in voices you need to click on the touch screen to get into the list of
choices. A bit like having to interract with an object slider.

have found is for IOS. It is called Voice Dream Reader and I import my RNIB
daisy audio books into it. They work great. The app is not cheap, but it can
read just about any format you can throw at it.

Hi. In the UK I can simply ask Alexa to play any radio station that has
an internet stream. As long as you know the exact name of the station no extra
skills are needed.

I think this is a general problem. If you have earphones I find that the
numbers spoken by voice over are more distinct for some reason. I can’t
guarantee or explain why this is so, but it usually works for me.
