Hi All,
Don't want to freak you all out, but first heard about this yesterday
and today got sent this link.
Probably naive of me to think Mac users have no worries ? It looks
legit to me. Any comments ?
Hi Jewels,
I think in the Mac environment you will be safe. The only thing that I am aware
that will create it is an .exe. trojan for a PC.
Here is a link with more information, but half way down that page is another
link which will check your machine to see if it could be affected.
Many thanks Eugene,
Will certainly check out the link.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
OS X 10.6.8 is Snow Leopard. Try an easy fix for your Mail problem first.
1. Open Mail
2. Click on your Gmail Mailbox that is showing the incorrect message count (to
select it)
3. In the Menu Bar, click Mailbox Rebuild
If that does not solve the problem:
1. Quit Mail
2. Go to your
Hello group,
A friend has a problem with Safari. The pictures that are often included in
a newspaper article are not shown anymore - only white square boxes - but
the article itself comes up.
She uses OS 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.5 in an iMac .
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Walter

Hi Walter,
Just checking in case ... has Display images when the page opens been
unchecked in your Safari appearance preferences?

Hi Ronni and Geoff,
I have asked her to check the Display images setting. It was not checked,
she has checked it and it's all back to normal.
She's a very happy lady now.
Thanks Ronni and Geoff,

Hi folks,
This actually began some while ago and I have been getting more more curious
about it.
If I copy any attachments from Mail to the desktop, then Trash them when I have
finished with them,
I am not able to delete them from Trash until I have quit Mail.
This never used to happen and it
Hi Ronni,
Bravo!
Your second instruction (part 2) worked. Now it's all clear
and now I have access to the new Mail.
Thank you mostly kindly.

Hi Stephen,
Are you using Mail in Snow Leopard? Are you receiving the file is in use
error?
Until the message with attachment has been sent, trash will not empty if it
contains the attachment file, but it should after the entire message has been
sent.
Many times the file in use error is
Hi Stephen
Though I don't have an exact answer for this (and have googled and repaired and
modified to try and fix it), I have found some things that seem to make it a
bit better.
I sometimes come across the same hiccup with files.
It can be for a few different ways of doing it I find.

Hi Ronni,
Perhaps it's too soon to rejoice.
I still find the number indicator against the Mail and the cursor is still
circling unendingly.
This unstop performance by the cursor ring has been on since I thought the
problem was solved.
What's wrong?

Thanks Ronni,
Yes it is Snow Leopard (still nervous about Lion with my old 2.15 iMac)
Hopefully will go all new in June anyway.
Yes I get file in use error
Files are definitely not open.
Repair disk permissions quite regularly (especially before and after new
install, as per your good advice)
Hi Paul,
When you moved the Envelope Index to the Trash and then opened Mail, did you
allow it to complete recreating your envelope index? If you did not that could
explain the 'beach ball' spinning.
Without knowing how you have setup your gmail account on the Web and in Mail
it is difficult
Hi Adrian,
Thanks for the reminder but I have already done that to no avail. Will
keep trying.

Hi John,
Are you sure you are NOT running Safari 5.1.5 in 32-bit mode?
Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click
Get Info.
If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then
relaunch Safari.
Also, since you are running v10.7.3 Lion,
