Are you using iTunes Match?
If you see the cloud icon next to Music, then iTunes Match has been abled.
Try signing out your Apple ID and sign in again.
1. Go to the iTunes store in iTunes
2. Select your Apple ID in top right
3. When the popup opens, don't put in Password, just Sign

devices (as a while back you had a couple before we tided it up.

You might be experiencing problems with SystemUIServer. If you look in
activity monitor and see that using a lot of CPU/RAM then just Quit Process.
After doing this you will see the clock and date immediately change to the
correct current time and date.

I have been able to repair the hard disk on my MBPro as you had advised. I
checked three times and all is in order. The HD was repaired.
