Thanks for the link to the opening of "The New Andy Griffith Show." I've seen
it before but liked seeing it again. It's funny, but I don't remember ever
seeing this show when it aired, which would have been when I was growing up.

In today's newspaper there was a cartoon labelled The Andy Griffith Show,
2014. It showed a robotic looking policeman with pads on all his exposed body
parts, and a shield over his face, and there was a little boy with a fishing
rod (presumably Opie) beside him, running in the opposite
Burt Mustin played the character Jud Fletcher on The Andy Griffith
Show and he appeared on Mayberry, R.F.D., Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C., and The

The New Andy Griffith Show followed Headmaster. In it, Andy played Andy
Sawyer, Acting Mayor of another small town in North Carolina. Lee
Merryweather played his wife. Barney, Goober, and Emmett even made an
appearance as old friends. This was a great show that, like Headmaster,

I watched a re-airing of The Andy Griffith Show Retrospective. It was on
Biography Channel. It first aired in 2000 and it was very poignant to see the

Seeing that 'Star Trek' was just released and depicts what happened before
TOS debuted in 1966, it would be neat to see a prequel to TAGS. It would
chronicle when Andy met his wife, the birth of Opie, et cetera. After Andy's
wife dies, there would be a good dramatic scene with a lot of anger
I found out today that there was an Andy Griffith show reunion in 2003 that was
entitled Back To Mayberry. i was woundering if anyone knows If it's available
on dvd, and where i can by it from.

I agree with most of what has said about nothing on TV today being as
good as The Andy Griffith Show. There is a show, though, on the
Discovery Channel that I enjoy watching, sometimes with my daughter
called Mythbusters. It's kind of a cross between Odd Facts Known by
