Hello. Could someone fill me in how Return to Mayberry ends? I
watched it on MeTV Friday night and fell asleep the last half hour. I
did watch it last year but did not remember much about it. Must have
fallen asleep last year, too. Barney does marry Thel, am I correct?

TAGS fans,
Watching Return to Mayberry on DVD. Of all the return movies or specials for
any old TV shows, this is still my favorite. Not just seeing the old cast, but
I thought they did a good job of capturing the spirit of the show while also
allowing the characters to grow and change.

I just finished watching the Promo Clip from the Return of the Killer Shrews
and it gave me an idea. Since it has been more than 20 years since Return to
Mayberry came out, why not make a sequel to that called Return to Mayberry 2.
It could be produced and directed by Mr. and Mrs. James Best
I don't know Jimmy. That's a close one. He defintely has the trademark shirt
pocket protector. And a different hair style.

Great post on Return to Mayberry Dixon. My favorite part of the entire movie
was Andy's closing speech at Barney's and Thelma Lou's wedding.
He said, There's something about Mayberry and Mayberry folk that never leaves

I wonder who was living the old 1960s era Taylor home in 1986? It wasn't Opie,
he lived way out in the
country in a house with a long driveway.
I agree Dixon - I watched it on my new DVD and loved every minute of it even
more than when I watched when it ran the first time. As big of a fan as
Having received The Andy Griffith Show 50th Anniversary DVD, I've enjoyed
watching it and (for the first time in years) watching Return to

I often wondered if Francis agreed to appear in Return To Mayberry where would
she be? Would she be living with Opie and his wife? would she live alone maybe
watching other peoples children? How would the writers have written her into
Mayberry? Maybe Sam Jones would have made an appearance
Does anyone know if Return to Mayberry will ever be available as a DVD (by
itself)? I purchased each of the Season DVD sets when they became available.
Now I would have to purchase them all in a package to obtain the movie.

It's hard to believe that more time has passed since this movie (1986) than
there was between it and the end of production of TAGS.
Here is the only bad thing I have ever remotely had to say about TAGS. I was so
disappointed with The Return To Mayberry. I felt the storyline was fluff

While it's true that Return to Mayberry was released on DVD only as
