To the people to do not like Helen's attitude, think about how sometime you
could be a bit testy when you don't get your way.
I know that I can get a little peeved at people when they don't do what needs
to be done. Then they turn it around on me and say that I have a bad attitude.
Usually I

The brief introduction to Helen was in the classroom where she discovered the
boys were taking their direction from Opie who was taking his direction from
Andy with regards to the history of this country,
As far as Andy not knowing Miss Crump's first name, in the episode that
introduced Miss Crump, Andy Discovers America, at the end of the show Andy
walks Miss Crump home at the end of the show. When they arrive at Miss
Crump's house, Andy says I'm kinda glad this whole thing happened
What's wrong with Andy calling Miss Crump Miss Crump? After all, it isn't
dirty.

Miss Crump.
Thank you Ms. Elizabeth. That makes sense. I grew up in New York and
Connecticut calling older people by Mrs. and Mr. and even into my 20's.
That's just how it was done. Then anyway.

There's a perfectly good reason why Andy refers to Miss Crump as Miss Crump:
that was her name. What else would he call her? Teach? Old Lady Crump? Hey
You?
The character of Miss Crump first appeared in Andy Discovers America, but she
would not get a first name until six episodes later
Patty, Bein' that I grew up in the south and bein' that I'm about Opie's
age, when I was a kid in conversation with an adult, the adult referred to
another adult as Mr. Jones or Mrs. Jones like the child would have
addressed the person. Things have changed now so the children call adults
Mr. Mike
For what it's worth (not even 2 cents), my growing up years in NC included the
years of TAGS' first run. One of my classmates had the last name Crump. I don't
know if his family came from Kansas.
Also, my grandmother was a Poovey - and of the Pooveys I knew, one of 'em was
nicknamed Goober

Hey Ken, the Crump name isn't fictitious. A few years ago I was in one
of our local grocery stores, and this lady who was a manager there had the
last name of Crump. It's the only time I've ever seen anyone
I do believe Crump is a very important name in Kansas. Why in Kansas they
even made apple crump pie. And the people their never get grumpy. Instead
they get crumpy. People there never get down in the dumps. They get down
in the crumps. Why they don't even have bumps in the road. Yep, you
Old Lady Crump played a Jewish girl on a Bonanza episode and got
kissed by Adam Cartwright. Does that mean they had to get married?

In the episode where everyone thinks Andy and Helen are getting
married, Helen is walking a student home, and as the child is walking
away Helen say Make sure your mother puts something on your . I
couldn't make out what she says at the end. Also, was this the only
episode where Rance Howard
She tells the girl to have her mother put something on her stye, an infection
of the eyelid, like a pimple. That's the same little girl who Opie had such a
crush on in another episode, but Helen calls her by a different first name here
(one which I'm not remembering as I'm typing this).
HI gang!!
Don't tell Andy but I just saw Miss Crump on Bonanza, sweet on Adam Cartwright.
Must be a part of her Kansas past (TAGS episode 244). For that matter don't
let Mrs. Pendleton find out.
