I knew that the great Earle Hagen wrote the theme to TAGS ("The Fishin'
Hole"), and whistled it as well during the opening. But I just read that
the lyrics, which Andy sang and recorded, were written by Everett ("Jubal,
Jubal, Jubal") Sloane, who starred in "The Keeper of The Flame" episode.

I don't know how many of you listen to or watch my podcast about The
Andy Griffith Show called Two Chairs No Waiting but last weeks episode
was a fun trivia session about music from TAGS. You might want to go

Well last night I participated in a large National Night Out sponsored by a
neighboring city's police department. We had a great time. I handed out a
lot of badges and gave candy treats to kids if they could answer some
trivia questions. I could not believe how difficult it was for some kids

I did.I only thought of 3 and you all thought of 5. However the last one
I thought of, that I told you was really obscure, no one came up with. I
will wait one more day and tell everyone the answer

Here is a cute trivia question that should be pretty easy that came to me
today.
Several people in Mayberry revealed their middle names. Andy had Jackson,
and Barney had more than one.Lots of people do not like their middle names,
and do all they can to hide them

their publication, they stated that Barney Hosts A Summit Meeting was the
highest rated TAGS show in the 8 years of broadcast, with a rating of 33.4.
Now a days if a show has been on television for as many as 8 years,
I recently bought a used copy of The Book Of Lists at a library sale. It
was written in 1977, and is essentially a compendium of trivia.While
perusing the volume the other morning I came across an interesting bit of
trivia concerning TAGS.

Here is the answer to my recent trivia question. In Alcohol and Old Lace, when
Andy releases Rube Sloan from jail, he says, Write if you get work. This was
Ray Goulding's sign-off catch phrase on the old Bob and Ray radio programs. His
partner Bob Elliott (father of actor Chris Elliott) would

I've been listening to a lot of episodes of a certain old time radio show. This
show always ended with someone signing off with a particular catch phrase. Andy
once uses the very same phrase in an episode of TAGS

challengers). It's a bit like Trivial Pursuit, and the question are submitted

Here is a new trivia challenge for your potential amusement: name an instance
when a CHARACTER (not an actor) in Mayberry is seen playing another character
in Mayberry.
Let me clarify this. I do not mean when an ACTOR played more than one role, for
example Jack Dodson first appeared

wasn't thinking of devil because that's not exactly a name, and besides
devil is not quite the same as THE devil. Aunt Bee also calls Barney a
devil after he deliberately spilled a drawer from the courthouse filing
