What was that handshake about ?
Watching Aunt Bees Romance.. with Roger Hanover. After Andy warned Opie not to call Roger " Uncle Roger " they walked from the Kitchen to the Living Room. There was Roger and Aunt Bee Shaking hands and dropped their hands that very moment. Did they just make a deal about something ? Would think that sly Roger would be more into kissing on the neck ( as he did later ). Hmmm, maybe the producers thought that handshaking was a warm enough interaction between man and woman who weren't quiet dating steady. I mean its Mayberry ya know. Heck they may just shake hands if they got married seeing that Gomers parents did the same on their wedding day. What do you think of this fire?
I just finished watching the episode "Three's a Crowd" and one thing always stands out to me. Mary and Andy are sitting in front of a roaring fire in the fireplace. Then they decide to go for a drive in Mary's convertible and they decide to put the top down because it is so nice. If it is warm enough in the evening to have the top down, why would they want a fire in the fireplace? And then when they left, they left with the fire still going strong. What if ?
Often heard a few here say " What If " Barney had stayed on instead of leaving for the big screen. Ok, lets come up with some what if titles and maybe a summary if Barney had stayed on. Here's one for yall. Can you make up one ? " Mayberry down the tubes " Opie's in his 20's now and starts a heavy metal band ( sound kind of familiar ?). Problem is since Barney got the instruments for the band , he talked his way into being the singer. This time ( unlike last ) the microphone is REALLY hot and Barneys not whispering. Opie consults his dad Andy for help. When Andy intervenes on behalf of the Opie and the band, He is persuaded by Barney to try out an electric guitar. Andy falls in love with it and wants to play in the band too ! The problem gets more complex because now the band has grown really big which includes Aunt Bea and some of the girls from the choir as backup singers. Eventually all of the Mayberry citizens are run out of town due to the rock n rollers trash left all over the streets. Barney doesnt have time to write up tickets anymore with his time spent with the band and learning his news singing style from Eleanora Poultice. Jim Lindsey has taken over Bobby Fleets band with a beat due to Bobbys drinking problem, so he persuades the rest of his band to open up for Opie's gigs. Mayberry appears to be going down the tubes at this point, but finally, Otis and his friends from AA ( Otis since has cleaned up his act ) helps create some more stringent alcohol laws in neighboring counties which eventually dries out Mayberry and in turn causes the band to disband so everything goes back to normal. ( eh' its the best I can come up with for now ) Footnote.. Opie and Barneys band is called " Gateway to Danger " . What keeps Mayberry alive
So, you ask what keeps Mayberry alive to those of us born after the show's origination. As one if those people, I think I can offer an answer. It's not necessarily the characters, although Barney and Floyd are the epitome of brilliant comedy. Aunt Bee is the perfect example of a loving maternal figure. Little Opie provides the innocence of children everywhere and Andy is, of course, the voice of reason. Throw in the other characters and you've got every aspect of mankind represented. But the characters alone don't give this show life. It's not the witty writing either. However, the storylines found this show are found no where else. A cow thief with shoes, raising birds whose mother you killed with a sling shot, and entertaining guests who pass through with southern hospitality all combine to make magic on each episode. But it takes more than that. It's not the setting either. The candle stick phone, the vintage cars, the gloves and hats worn by the ladies, homemade ice cream, sitting around the table for a meal, or on the front porch to visit and sing all tug at your heart and make you long for the days of the past. But that's not the enduring nature of this show. What makes this show last for over fifty years and resonate with many generations is the yearning that's inside all of us to live in this magical place, Mayberry. Within each show we see mankind at its best, lending a helping hand ( Cave Rescue). We see love for strangers ( Man in a Hurry). We see encouragement ( Barney and the Choir). We see a duty to set wrongs right ( Opie's I'll-Gotten Gain). We see justice ( Bailey's Bad Boy). We see putting others first ( The Bed Jacket). We see belief in each other (Mr. McBeevee). We see helping a friend down on his luck ( Gomer the House Guest). We see a simpler lifestyle (Sermon for Today). We see friends saving other friends from embarrassment ( Floyd the Gay Deceiver). We see faith in our youth ( Great Filling Station Robbery) . We see a desire to make our friends happy ( A Wife for Andy). We see faith in mankind (The Christmas Story). We see respect and tolerance for others ( Family Visit). We see a genuine desire to help others ( The Guitar Player episodes). Along the way, we are mesmerized by the characters, the brilliant writing, and the nostalgic setting. You see, somewhere, down deep in all of our hearts is a craving to live in this enchanted town. In fact, the reality is, we TAGS fans are all Ed Sawyers, trying to fit into the fast, hectic, evil, selfish world in which we truly do exist, but yet still believing that we hail from Mayberry, my hometown. Yes, I'd love to get a haircut by Floyd, talk to Sarah on that phone, and pull a silly antic on Barney, but much more than that, I'd like to live in a world where I am surrounded by the ideals and values and genuine love shown in that little town in North Carolina in the sixties known as Mayberry. Yes, Mayberry is my hometown, isn't it yours too? Rebecca Spears/Lydia Sent from my iPad ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.wbmutbb.com/
what you hear
Many years ago I inadvertently insulted a young black man when I said "Yeah boy" as Andy would do when he expressed pleasure in something good. I don't remember what transpired that made me say this but the man's face fell and I asked what was the matter. He answered that I had denigrated him by calling him "boy." I had to stop and think and then I explained that it is an Andyism from Mayberry meant in a positive way and gave him some examples. He began to smile and all was well once again. So you just never know what someone's reaction might be if they are unfamiliar with something but if you take the time to inquire and explain, everything can be make good again! Since almost everyone knows about Mayberry and it's mystique, even if they aren't an avid watcher, they always react positively and then I'm so proud to be part of the clan! Re: WBMUTBB Digest, Vol 16, Issue 311 - What Rafe said
I've mentioned this before and I'll go out on a limb and mention it again. I really do NOT think Rafe said what some seem to think, and here's why: Growing up, my dad would give half a laugh or a partial chuckle at something that amused him and begin his reply with "Well". Many times, he'd start to say "Well" and the half a laugh would slip itself in. So rather than, "Heh, well", it would come out, "We-heh-ll". I remember that from 60 years ago and to this day, it'll still come about. The very first time I heard Rafe utter that, I recognized it as the same sounding reply my dad used. What Andy, Barney Aunt Bee drove
Here are some questions that might drive you crazy! Name 4 different cars that Andy drove; name 4 different cars that Barney drove and name 3 modes of transportation that Aunt Bee operated. Let's see--Barney drove the squad car, the car he bought from Mrs. Lesch, Floyd's car, and Malloy's car (while pulling the trailer behind it). Aunt Bee operated her car, an airplane, and a tandem bike. I'm still working on what Andy drove. I can't remember four different cars. Of course, he drove the squad car. I'm thinking he drove Aunt Bee's car to Raleigh that time he met up with the heavyset, grim, 40-ish lawyer lady. That would be two. But right now I can only think of two other vehicles, and they were pick-up trucks--Goober's truck and the one he was going to take Aunt Bee in at the end of the very first episode. What single episode captures ....
I teach a class of eighth graders a course called MAYBERRY FAMILY VALUES. We watch two related TAGS episodes and then discuss. (Example, we'll watch The Pickle Story and Barney and Chior and then discuss how much trouble you can get in with lying - even when you are doing it to spare someone's feelings.) The kids eventually love the class, but it usually takes four or five episodes before they can really get into it. This is because TAGS is so character-based and it takes a few viewings to know the characters. So I'd like some help from fellow TAGS experts. What episode can I show as a first experience to help future classes hit the road running? In other words, what single episode does the best job introducing the characters and helping first-timers grasp the spirit of Mayberry? Hi Gang, That's a good one, Paul! Thanks for sharing that. There's a similar scene in which Andy and Barn are walking, checking the doors, as Thel was going with Gome to the movies. We can still hear Barn talking as if he had no fudge in his mouth, yet the camera shows him chewing. I wonder if quite a few of the outdoor scenes in particular had overdubbed sound? In reading about the British tv show from the 60s, the Avengers, it said that they filmed 'mute' (without recording sound) on the location filming in the early/mid 60s and I was wondering if TAGS did the same thing at times? I also have another question that's been praying or preying on me lately. I can't seem to find the episode in which Opie is hanging on to Andy's arm at the Taylor house, and Andy is trying to shake him loose, seemingly annoyed. What did Opie say?
You will likely get multiple responses to this, but I have a question of my own to ask, so here goes. Andy says to Opie, You were supposed to yell when you saw a maroon two-door. Opie's reply is, Maroon's a new make to me, Paw. You see, the lad was unaware that maroon was the color of the car; he thought Maroon was the manufacturer. Now here is another line I have never quite been able to make out. It comes near the end of the Bert Miller episode, when Opie is telling Andy about the crowd at Weaver's store. Opie has crammed several pieces of gum into his mouth (I wonder what Aunt Bee would say?), and Andy asks him, Did you notice, was anybody over at Bert Miller's stand? and Opie mutters something, but it's unintelligible due to all the gum in his mouth. Can anybody make it out? The nearest thing I can figure is I couldn't see the stand, but that may be completely wrong. Don Knotts will best be remembered as Ralph Furley on Three's Company....What??
I so agree with Jess: it boggles the mind to think that Ralph Furley was Don Knotts greatest role. The article had to be written by someone not aware of or a fan of TAGS. Of course, Barney . . . I mean Don . . . was good in anything he did, but it was for being our thin-lipped deputy that he won five Emmys, after all. Now if that don't speak volumes about the actor of the man, I don't know what does. Greatest TV character ever, in my humble opinion. Don Knotts will best be remembered as Ralph Furley on Three's Company....What??
I was just on foxnews.com and they had a special story called Then/Now-Who's Still Kickin'? and Don Knotts was featured. Here's what it said about him... Don Knotts PASSED ON The comedic actor spent many years on The Andy Griffith Show from 1960-1968. But it was his role as landlord Ralph Furley on Three's Company that he will be remembered for. He died on Feb. 24, 2006 from complications due to lung cancer. He was 81. What was this person that wrote this thinking? When I think of Don Knotts, I automatically think of Barney! What Mayberry Means to Me by George Lindsey
What Maybe Means to Me by George Lindsey (from Goober in a Nutshell BY Ken Beck and Jim Clark, 1995) Mayberry is going to church on Sunday, and then after church going to the drugstore for a cherry Coke. It's sitting around the barber shop reading the sports page, and getting a shoe shine, and listening to Fred and Spooky tell their corny jokes. It's goin' to the wrestlin' matches on Saturday night, or maybe to the county line for a beer or two. It's sitting in your car on Main Street watching the people pass, when there's nothing else to do. It's shelling corn and making quilts, and sometimes there's a remnant sale. It's getting a call in the middle of the night, to get a good buddy out of jail. It's book satchels and cloak rooms and notes from your mother when you're late to school. It's getting a basketball for Christmas, and practicing the Golden Rule. It's getting one of those Parker pen and pencil sets for high school graduation, Or, if you're a girl, it's always Evening in Paris perfume. It's being scared to ask that special girl to dance at the senior prom; That happens every June. Oh, it's trying to learn to smoke cigarettes and dip snuff and chew tobacco, and you get so sick you think you're gonna die. It's trying to get somebody to show you how to make a Windsor know, in your daddy's brand new Sunday tie. It's everything and everybody, and when you talk about it you get that very, very special itch, but the think that I like about Mayberry, most of all, IT'S MADE OL' GOOBER RICH! What we know about Barney Andy's youth
I have often wondered about Andy?s and Barney? life in Mayberry during their young informative years. Actually we know a lot about their growing up years together in Mayberry by listening to their many conversations during the many episodes of TAGS that they shared. I think the numerous conversations Andy and Barney have about past events, family members, etc., were a big part of the show's appeal. Even though they were, in essence, about nothing of consequence, at least as far as the storyline was concerned, they gave us a glimpse into the characters that we wouldn't otherwise have. They made Andy and Barney, in particular, seem like real people with real pasts. We better understand their personalities and behavior because of these stories, and these sidelights make the characters more endearing to us. When you think about it, there weren't many other shows that did this type of thing. The Dick Van Dyke Show did something similar with their frequent use of flashbacks, but in their case, we actually saw Dick and Laura act out these memories of past events, whereas in TAGS we only hear them discussed. In a way, I prefer that, because it enables us viewers to create the scenes in our own imaginations. Don't you just love to imagine the look on young Barney's face when Vicki Harms bit the end of his snow cone, sucked out all the juice, and left him with just the ice?? Dear TAGS, I have learned to: Wash my hands after eating kerosene pickles.Be patient waiting out the sisters on Sunday to be able to use the phone.Grab a coat to put on Opie to go over to Clara's house because Luke Comstock is coming by.Never order escargots. When it is late, I will let Wally check out my car the next morning, because it gets dark early and I can't trusther for the road after dark. Not to let Myrt Hubcaps Lesh, Bernard's widow, negotiate my next car purchase.Always buy my scarves from Bert Miller, because he puts them in a fancy box!Always take a suitcase full of toiletries to go and visit my cousin on a overnight trip.Never buy a postcard and mail it off to where you are going, because they will get it right after you get there. P.S. I went and found the movie The Ghost and Mr. Chicken and I have just only watched the first few minutes of the movie, where they are all eating breakfast. 3.2 beer is a low-alcohol beer that, according to Wikipedia, is beer that contains 3.2% alcohol by weight. Also according to Wikipedia, The states of Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Utah permit general establishments such as supermarket chains and convenience stores to sell only low-point beer. When I was in college in southwestern Ohio (many, many, many years ago!), only 3.2 beer was allowed to be sold in the bars. It wasn't a state law, just that town's. What A Trip
We just returned from our trip to Mayberry Days. It was a great celebration of the show and the past 50 years on TV. Everything was just great for a real Mayberry fan - the dinner and entertainment at the country club, the mayor's proclamation ceremony, the shopping, the Dillards, the VW Boys, the parade, the museum, Floyd's, Snappy Lunch, Mrs. Wiley Tea Party, Col. Tims Talent Show, etc., etc., etc., etc., even the weather. There was so much to see and do that it really kept us hopping all day long. Of course the main events were the stars who traveled long distances to be with us. They looked like they were really enjoying themselves and they were more than gracious in giving autographs and talking with everyone. Barney, Floyd, Howard, etc. truly added a great flavor and realistic charactarizations to almost every event. There were a LOT more people there than in normal years, which was great to see. I have been to about 14 Mayberry celebrations and this one ranks up there with the best. My wife, who has only gone to a couple of them and tolerates my Mayberry hobby, even commented that it gave her a better appreciation for why I like the show and Mayberry Days so much. Now that's saying something. We had decided to take some vacation time in conjunction with our 8 hour drive to Mt. Airy and went on to Charleston, South Carolina for some RR. While there and tourning the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown ( which was awsome), they were having a convention of the USA's Congressional Medal of Honor Recipients. The medal is the highest award possible for a member of our military in combat. We saw many of the recipiants, the ceremony and even got an autograph from General Patrick Brady on his book that he has written. I learned about getting autographs from attending so many Mayberry Days events. I have no idea how the Surry Arts Council can top this year's celebration, but I look forward to next year's to find out. What a GREAT trip. - The Gollywobbler ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

Say What?
Dewy, I'm responding to the posting of your comments that included-- As you are opening multiple presents, and stuffing your face, remember the less fortunate. With the changing of a day, any of us could join the ranks of the less fortunate. Now, it seems that you are assuming, as Andy did with Opie one time when he thought he was keeping all his money for himself (poor Haratio--remember), that Mayberry folks aren't charitable. Aunt Bee called him out on that deal. Well, I like to think that proper behavior for Mayberry folks is that they are brung up right and always act like somebody, so I think we have all our charity obligations squared away year 'round and especially as part of our Christmas plans. This way we can open our multiple presents and stuff our faces with that extra warm deep down feeling that giving first can only bring. Now choosing words and expressing them into text sometimes doesn't read out like they were intended when we thought of them in our heads. And I think your intentions were that of concern for the less fortunate, and I admire that. Mayberry folks need to just say Merry Christmas to all, God bless us, everyone. What Movie Has the Most TAGS Actors??
I believe this question was asked before and honestly i forgot what the verdict if any was given. its no easy task but moments ago watching Witness To Murder 1954 I found Dick Elliot, Burt Mustin, Jesse White and the actor named Sam who Ben Weaver tried to evict (Sorry i forgot his name), this is a lead up to my further investagation, i figured maybe a big named movie extravaganza might give us a clue. Well this film might not be the winner but its way up there. 1963's Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad World a comedy classic. look at who was in this film: Don Knotts, Roy Engel (one of the most prolific actors in background scenes on TAGS )Jesse White, Roy Roberts,Cliff Norton, Doodles Weaver,Sterling Holloway, and Charles Lane.To find a complete list of this film is next to impossible due to ever changing scripts and additional lost footage still being found. You fans would have to see this great film to pinpoint the many TAGS actors who popped out of nowhere. To sum it all up, Mad World like TAGS is the best in comedy considered by fans and critics alike. I see no TAGS marathon on tvland this weekend from what im reading. Tvland is now adding further insult to TAGS not only by cutting scenes out but now at the episodes end, the credits are running on the final scene on the bottom. what a travesty.Married With Children and Roseanne is the order of the day. What the Story on Jack Burns and Warren the Deputy?
its well known to any lover of TAGS , Jack Burns was no Don Knotts. Im sure Jack now 76 is s decent hard working actor-comedian voice over and all round great human being. That said, I just saw him in his first appearence in The bazaar moments ago on the Tvland marathon.Has anyone ever dwelled into how his exit as Warren came about and what if its known is his personal views on his role as Warren Ferguson. I almost feel sorry for him or any actor asked to replace the great Don-Barney. I checked IMBD and there isnt much on his role. in fact under several bios there is no mention of TAGS among his credits. the IMDB bio for all, actors lists it but other bios ignore it. Im sure Allan or someone out there has had a chance to either interview, read up or learn more of Jack Burns and his views. Funny but i see in the 70s , Jack Burns and Don knotts did a tv show. that must had been quite a sight to see. Im not defending or crititizing this actor. I feel sorry for him if anything or for any actor asked to do the impossible. But has anyone ever asked Jack or has Jack ever gone on record publicly telling us fans what he thought of his role. It makes for interesting conversation. Thank you. Tom Kessel Col.Tims protege reject. Im just curious thats all. ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
What it was was football and all them ATs
Take me out to the ball game In this context, it is correct english. but, What it is was football is incorrect english. That's because the actual title is What it WAS was football. My biggest pet peeve is when people ask Where are you AT? or Where is it AT? as if At is needed there. The correct question (I want to finish my sent-tence) is Where are you? or Where is it?. Why anyone adds AT to questions like that is way beyond my scope of interest..I just refer to them all as interlopers - interloping words where they don't belong. Family Visit Was On Again..What a Classic
Folks I got to tell you, Marsha and I were discussing the airing of Family Visit last night. Its a riot. what a gem, funny funny funny as Gomer would say. Uncle Ollie has got to be first rate No. one Pest of Mayberry. Roger might be runner up but Uncle ollie stole the show. So inept, a coward, a blowhard. From goose down pillow to his inability to sleep to his snoring, Andy's expression when Ollie is asleep, Andy's expression in the last scene with Aunt Bee by phone telling Aunt Nora they got to get together soon, Uncle ollie and the siren in the car, crazy driving, his made up story of appliances le3ft on as excuse to race back home, his bragging of endeavors to capture a convict, before his sons, scolding the old man at Andy's courthouse for no good reason to his threatening to get out of bed if the boys dont leave, James Wethersfield was simply brilliant. i cant say enough good for a near perfect episode. Even Floyd put in a token appearence. Aunt Bee was great, Aunt Nora another one off the wall and the devilish boys playing in the police car, This is too good to be true. its brilliant writing and acting first grade all the way. What was Otis crying?
In yesterday's post I meant to say Otis Crying that the Old Gray Goose is Dead My apologies for the typo, which if read differently, gave it a totally different meaning. I'm that Newspaper writer that can't even spell FITE..I mean FIFE Tom K. You're correct about Mr. Schwamp's most glorious performance/number of sightings in the Fun Girls. But also he gets the most momentary attention in My Fairest Ernest T Bass for retrieving the offending rock. He is also called by name in this appearance. RE: What Rafe said.
Hi All, I can put this one to rest... I have watched the scene in question with closed caption on and it shows in wording Rafe saying Well, that's me not what it could sound like. Mayberry is a clean place...the only language that you will hear will come from the hawks that Andy talks to. Haha. What Rafe says
In the episode where Andy talks Rafe Hollister into singing at the choir tryouts, Rafe utters the phrase, Hell, that's me! when Andy is describing to him the prisoner that didn't get his suit of clothes. I played that back over and over again a couple of weeks ago and I really think that's what he says. Tell me I'm wrong... Ginger, I won't tell you you're wrong, because I'm not sure we can definitively answer that. When I listen to his line, I don't hear the h sound. He says it rather fast, and it sounds like he's dropping off something at the beginning. So he might have actually been saying, Well, that's me! That's what I always assumed, anyway, until someone on the digest thought otherwise. Perhaps this is one of those Mayberry mysteries we will never fully resolve! You Know What I Did Just Like Andy Yesterday
thanks Martha for agreeing with me about why Andy smelled the bottle. Sometimes we have to find out the hard way when we question what one says. its the general makeup of the human mind. And yesterday i did an ANDY and now realized i proved my case. Fathers Day and the daughter came home from college to go out for dinner .Well one of her girlfriends coming down to see us , came down at 11:00am . I told her Christina wasnt due in til 1:00pm. But she said Oh I know Christina. She may be over way before 1pm.. SHe stayed and stayed and you can figure out the rest. Like clockwork, Christina pulled into the driveway at 1pm. Not til got back on my computer last night did i realize I did an ANDY. We all have. .My next project is to see what other actors played their last role being on TAGS. With Fred Sherman as the 4th, the list might be sadly a bit longer. Re: What would get Barney fired?
And now some words about Barney...much as we all love him, he was probably the most inept peace officer in television history, at least until the cast of Reno 911! came along.? But perhaps that's part of the reason we all love him, it's easier to laugh with and sympathize with someone like him than if he had a Jack Webb level of competence. There are quite a few things Barney did that would've gotten him fired in the real world just on the first offense, but Andy let him by...and he did it again!? It's hard to imagine anyone keeping their job after the second time they unwittingly helped a prisoner escape...unwittingly assisted someone in a criminal act...or fired his gun into the courthouse ceiling/floor.? And remember when he locked up the whole town?? In the real world, a massive number of false arrests at once would've bankrupted the town in lawsuits, gotten Mayberry massive national publicity as a laughingstock, and pretty much made Barney a pariah in the law enforcement community in general.? The fact that Andy managed to convince the town they were right to be locked up (after he personally found them all innocent!) is a masterstroke of reverse psychology. What scene do you think that Barney should be canned more than any other?
If Barney was ever to be fired over some type of mistake, wrong decision, bad act, spoken word,... etc in his duties as lawman what would it be? My choics is the time he let the big 7 million dollar gold truck news slip. The federal boys could have placed him under arrest if it was real life. Let Andy try to get him out of that one ! I thought about the moment when Andy sat up on the truck and told everyone to disperse. It was interesting that ANDY told the town the truck was going to the gas station for gas and the truck drivers were going to get a bite to eat was rather unusual. Noone chewed out Andy for giving away such sensitive information. It would have been so appropriate if Barney would have spoke that line and then Andy could have chewed him out once again. This is a very funny episode. One of my favorites. Barney is such a charmand blabbermouth. In real life he would have been fired the following day. some what of a TAGS sighting
This past Thursday I watched on the local PBS channel Live from Lincoln Center New York City Ballet's 'Romeo and Juliet' . Didn't get to see the whole ballet my PBS station went out on my T.V. The whole time I was watching the ballet I kept hearing Andy in my head telling the story to Opie and Aunt Bee. Saturday I watched 'A Feud is a Feud', just love the Mr. Carter and Mr. Wakefield. I finally got to watch a movie I received for Christmas this past weekend. The movie was James Cagney and Bette Davis in 'The Bride came C.O.D.' very funny movie. I loved it when Bette Davis fell on a catus and James Cagney had to pull the thorns out. Now here is the stretch in TAGS sightings. The following people were in 'The Bride came C.O.D.' Pop Tolliver was played by Harry Davenport, the whole time I was watching the movie his voice was so familiar and I finally realized he played Dr. Meade from 'Gone with the Wind' (filmed on 40 acres lot). Sheriff McGee was played by William Frawley, Fred Mertz from 'I Love Lucy', TAGS filmed at DESILU studios. Peewee Defoe was played by George Tobias, Abner Kravitz from 'Bewitched', Bernard Fox was on 'Bewitched' and TAGS. Margaret Floyd: 'I'm going to Nashville.'
