Hi Tom,
Sorry that it took time to update on this, the remote location had a
problem with their internet for a few days so i was not able to access it
remotely until now.
I set debug=2 in weewx.conf and below is the output. Can you make any sense
of it?
2023-05-25 13:33:23 weewx[989] DEBUG
Thanks Vince,
That is good advice. I tried that more than once and the problem persists
so i'm ready to drive out to the location and collect the SD card to format
it so i can start fresh.
This is the first weather station I built so I probably did something wrong
when I first set it up. I

Thanks for the reply. It could very well be the init.d/weewx script but
i've started at it and from what i understand, i can't see an error. I've

Hi Tom,
Thanks a lot for the reply and for the update.
If that is the case then i will be very happy to at least understand why
that was happening! The question is, how was it working accurately for the
past 4 months? Perhaps an update caused things to change when i was
fiddling 2 weeks ago.
Thanks for the reply Tom,
I think i have fixed the logging now - time stamps are there. I must've
just changed DEBUG = 0 before i sent you the weewx.conf file because i have
been doing a lot of fiddling. I have set it to 1 again. I have also enabled
logging of the unmapped and unknown sensors

Hi,
I have a weewx installation running on a RPi and connected to an acurite 5

it is offline and i can't figure out why. I hadn't updated the RPi for a

Thanks for the suggestions. You are 100% right - i managed to fix this
about 1 hour ago.
I got someone on site to power cycle the display and it didn't fix it. So I
was brainstorming this for a few hours and i was surprised to see that *sudo
apt-get update* wasn't working. So i vnc'd into the
*nameserver 8.8.8.8* and viola it worked!
Not sure how that setting got lost because i am the only one with access.
Thanks for all the support.

It is 300. You are right, if i wait 10min it has started reporting so it is
working.
I am having intermittent issues though and i think it is because i am using
the wrong antenna on the dongle. If i move the station more than 5m away
from the dongle, it loses the signal.

I built a weather station using an accurate 5 in 1! a raspberry pi and weewx.
It works well but it the acurite side of things is temperamental. The usb
enabled display sometimes needs to be reset and a usb hub is required to make
sure it always has power. Not ideal when the station is installed

I installed a USB hub and i also used an active USB cable to connect the
display to the device which was 6 or 7 meters away. This combination seems
to have fixed the problem.
