Except strip there are no other imagemagick options you can easily use on the fly without checking the image with a script. The main advantage of the smush.it API is, that you don't to care about all that (nor in the future). The image you receive is losslessly optimized to the max while keeping metadata for JPEGs. Thumbs generated by with imagemagick don't save much filesize when you smush them. Except PNG thumbs of course, but that's the compromize for having it resized on the fly. But I talk about saving webspace and traffic for the originally uploaded images. Thus I can understand Brion's pov having the originals untouched. But not every wiki using MediaWiki is Wikipedia... (I love that argument). At this point, the above edit should be displayed at least: * On recent changes * On user contribs * On history of page Nonetheless, the edit wasn't shown in neither of them. However, in 1.16.1 when using a Vector derivative the new tag is parsed but not actually output to a page. If we make it its own separate head item, it'll get included after the first language style block, but *before* any subsequent ones. Custom styles with the same selector priority as those in the default styles could get overridden back to the defaults, and not be very easy to debug -- especially since most of the time there'll probably only be a single language per page and the bug won't bee seen. (!important entries can force an override, but folks likely won't know they need it.) Firefox 4.0b9 seems to wrap the long URLs nicely, but I can still see the reported issue in Chrome 8.0.552.237. The good news is that while we probably can't force it to wrap them, we can stop it from overflowing the text into the next cell. The stylesheets have a 20em 'max-width' for .TablePager_col_cr_message, which is what forces the cell to be so small. (This prevents the entire table from being insanely huge when there's a giant unwrapped URL in the comment.) Adding 'overflow: hidden' to this crops the overflowed text, which is pretty much what we want here. I don't remember what version of Ubuntu that would've been on.. 9.10/10.04 maybe? I never reset I have "php5-svn" installed though... That seemingly causes it to use SubversionPecl (based on Chads changes causing svn to hang during using importing to do an update).
