I do support (neutral) moderation and sometimes it is necessary to moderate
bad faith mails/trolls etc.
Along with moderation, it would be nice to maintain log somewhere (abt
discarded/rejected e-mails)

Thank you Srikanth Lakshmanan, your reply (along with Hari's) is quite
re-assuring and sufficient to quench my doubts.

Hi Viswa,
Adding to HPN's mail

It is set to selectively pass only for *new members*. This is because of
high SPAs, mostly trollish in nature. Unfortunately, this setting also
applies when people send from their other email add
My mails are clearly moderated From today only my mail is reaching. I don
know the reason i am just a member from last one year and informed about
this to sowmyan as well as vishwaprabha personally Over phone. But i dont

This is a test mail just to to check whether my mail is being moderated or
not.
Moderation is a tough task as intensity level is really high on Indian
mailing list. Kudos to the volunteers like Hari, Anirudh, Prashanth and

Certainly we always would like to assume good faith with all those good
samaritans. But what if most of them are busy and only a few are in charge?
:(
Can we then get a report or log of activities?

I can't believe you thought imp emails being discarded intentionally! :) I
understand the intensity level around chapter .. Still?
Being a moderator is like inviting spams. I had to remove myself at Odia

extra time to maintain/moderate a busy and cranky mail list such as
Viswa,
Nobody actually *controls* the list. And none of the present moderators
have any real need to do that.
To answer your other questions:
I'm the one who got this list started almost a decade back, so I've been a
moderator since. Some prolific contributors namely Anirudh S B, Prashanth N

Let us assume good faith as at least few of them were really busy in
personal life which I can vouch for.
What we need is an updated moderation policy and new volunteer
With sufficient evidences, as apparent as they seem to be, I must introduce
this issue to you all.
The India mailing list is controlled by a few people, of whom no one ever
was thinking evil. However, it is time to review and see who really
controls this mail list!
