We are in the middle of adding new 2960s Cisco switches to are edge. When
connecting our old 1200 series AP's to the switch via POE, the switch interface
just keeps flashing. Is this because the old AP's use the old pre-standard
POE? Our new 1142 series AP's connect just fine. Is there any
We had a similar problem years ago. We use PowerDsine midspan power inserters
for our AP power (they come in 6, 12, 24-port versions so they are cheaper
than buying power for a whole Cisco switch or blade when only a few ports need
power; management is also easy via a Web interface). In order
The 1200 series (not 1240 series) uses the Cisco pre-standard power. The
pre-standard power flipped the + and - wires. From the Cisco documents it
should support Cisco pre-standard PoE automatically. Do you know if you are

Ken,
(just throwing a flashing experience of our own...)
Does it flash when you connect just one AP-1200 or if you connect many AP-1200?
Switches or Midspan can only handle as much as the power supply can provide.
So if you overload the system it will flash.
We have had that problem when

After looking at the pin out on the old standard and new, I wouldn't think
that this would work.
Thank you to all that helped,

I'll second the CDP if you are having power budget problems (which it appears
you are not), for instance a 1231G AP that budgets for 4.4 watts with CDP will
budget for 15.4 watts if CDP is disabled.

Hello all,
We tested for this bug on our test OS X Lion device and we were able to change
our password correctly. Did we not do something right to get this bug to
appear? I want to make sure we tried everything as our students will be
returning starting this Wednesday.
Thanks,
Matt
