Hi Andy...Yes it happens all the time..BY DESIGN, apparently. I find it
most frustrating and bordering on rude. Technically the return 73 is not
required for a valid QSO, however it is the polite thing to do. At the
very least if confirms to your operating partner that all was received.

Firstly, thanks to Joe for increasing the JT4 SNR to something more usable.
Our local beacons run JT4D on 70cm and JT4F on 23cm. I have noticed that
if I choose a Tol of less than 100Hz I get a realistic SNR. 100Hz Tol or
greater results in something 15 or 20dB weaker reported.

I have recently built WSJT-X v1.8.0-rc2 r8084 and am finding that
_everyone_ calling CQ is coming up as a new DXCC.
r8069 behaves as expected. Have I missed something or is this a possible
bug?

Did you edit the ini file while wsjt-x was running? If you did that
probably explains why the setting kept reverting. I bet the program
rewrites that file on quit.

The original behaviour you described could then be initiated by
swapping modes and going back to JT65.

Hi Charlie and all,
Many thanks for your reply and all comments noted.
I did as you suggested, I edited the WSJT-X.ini file to change to
/LockTxFreq=*false*./ Interestingly, after editing and saving the .ini
file and confirming that indeed the edit has taken place, closing WSJT-X

Hi Joe and all,
I originally started this enquiry on Yahoo Groups 'wsjtgroup' and very
kindly received a possible solution from Joe K1JT. However I seem to be
having great trouble with Yahoo, so I am continuing on here. I hope that

I have been decoding a good number of -26/-27dB signals with the new decoder in

I (and others), have had an issue with the templates in WSJT 10.0 for

Hi Gents,
I appear to have a problem with this latest version regarding the PTT. I
don't have any!
I am not using CAT control. The transceiver uses a hard-wired PTT from
the RTS pins to a real com port i.e. no USB adapters
My PTT settings have worked on all previous versions (1.4, 1.5 and 1.6)
Hi Gents,
The 'colors' tab under 'settings' is missing. In this current version
there is little difference in colour between 'worked before' and 'not

Hi Joe,
Along with WSJT-X, I usually run JT65-HF HB9HQX Edition in rx only (I
usually obtain slightly better decodes with JT65-HF, although the gap is
decreasing).
I have noticed the 'CQ 000 ' decode for quite some time
now on each revision of WSJT-X. I have looked into this and found that

sensitivity improvements you've implemented over r4976.
However I have had a couple of instances of not being able to automatically
