When you're following spots and bouncing back and forth between FLDigi and WSJT-X it becomes easy to forget. It's not a hardware issueit's a wetware issue.  And when software can prevent the rig from screaming in somebody's ear the I believe it should. We do all sorts of stuff to the rig to

If you can remember to click a button in WSJT-X, couldn't you also remember to turn your AF on your rig down before starting WSJT-X? I'm not trying to be contentious, here, but this sounds like trying to cure a hardware issue in software (like Samsung does with their phones), when the solution is

I'd like to propose we add an "AF Mute" option to WSJT-X/Settings/Radio. Click the AF Mute button would toggle the AF Level from current to 0 and back. If the AF Mute button is checked WSJT-X would mute the audio before the mode is set. What this prevents, for example, is working CW on your rig
