[jira] [Commented] (YARN-4162) Scheduler info in REST, is currently not displaying partition specific queue information similar to UI

I can understand for parent Queue but which application are you referring to? IIUC there is no application information wrapped in ws/v1/cluster/scheduler output. so are you referring to output of /ws/v1/cluster/apps/ or /ws/v1/cluster/apps/{appid}/. If so yes it also needs to be handled in the separated jira as currently we are using ResourceUsageInfo only for users & queue's. Yeah, I meant the application's rest API. (Maybe we need add this to application attempt's rest API, not very sure) we need resource usage info to it as well. I think latest patch looks good, also tried it locally, +1. Will commit by tomorrow if no objections. > Scheduler info in REST, is currently not displaying partition specific queue > information similar to UI > -- > > Key: YARN-4162 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-4162 > Project: Hadoop YARN > Issue Type: Sub-task > Components: api, client, resourcemanager >Reporter: Naganarasimha G R >Assignee: Naganarasimha G R > Attachments: YARN-4162.v1.001.patch, YARN-4162.v2.001.patch, > YARN-4162.v2.002.patch, YARN-4162.v2.003.patch, YARN-4162.v2.004.patch, > YARN-4162.v2.005.patch, restAndJsonOutput.zip > > > When Node Labels are enabled then REST Scheduler Information should also > provide partition specific queue information similar to the existing Web UI -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)

Test case failures seems to be not related to the modifications in this jira and valid checkstyle comments have been incorporated. Also your thoughts on my earlier comment ? bq. Also to ensure all the REST data related to the existing web UI is available we need to also expose the Node Label Resource information. Sample REST response generally looks good, some comments: 1) Suggest to rename ResourceUsageInfo.partitionResourceUsages to resourceUsagesByPartition. Similarly, QueueCapacitiesInfo.partitionQueueCapacity -> queueCapacitiesByPartition 2) I think pendingResource/amResource is also very important for user/leafQueue's resourceUsage. 3) I think it's better to move CapacitySchedulerInfo#getResourceUsageInfo/getQueueCapacitiesInfo to ResourceUsage#createResourceUsageInfo and QueueCapacities#createQueueCapacitiesInfo. With this, you can access internal fields of ResourceUsage/QueueCapacities and it will be more nature to me to create -Info from a class. Will include more detailed code review at next iteration. > Scheduler info in REST, is currently not displaying partition specific queue > information similar to UI > -- > > Key: YARN-4162 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-4162 > Project: Hadoop YARN > Issue Type: Sub-task > Components: api, client, resourcemanager >Reporter: Naganarasimha G R >Assignee: Naganarasimha G R > Attachments: YARN-4162.v1.001.patch, YARN-4162.v2.001.patch, > YARN-4162.v2.002.patch, restAndJsonOutput.zip > > > When Node Labels are enabled then REST Scheduler Information should also > provide partition specific queue information similar to the existing Web UI -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)

I'm wondering instead of doing this, is it possible to change existing REST API? For example: {{ws/v1/cluster/scheduler}}. We have two major places need to change: - Capacity, all different capacity-by-partitions. - Resource, all resources-by-partitions. The API in my mind looks like: {code} "queue": [ { < Existing fields > "-xsi:type": "capacitySchedulerLeafQueueInfo", "capacity": "50.0", "usedCapacity": "0.0", "maxCapacity": "100.0", "absoluteCapacity": "50.0", "absoluteMaxCapacity": "100.0", "absoluteUsedCapacity": "0.0", "numApplications": "2", "queueName": "a", "state": "RUNNING", "resourcesUsed": { "memory": "0", "vCores": "0" }, -- New Added Fields -- "capacities": { "DEFAULT_PARTITION": { } "label-x" : { "capacity": 50.0, "usedCapacity": 40.0, "maxCapacity": ... } }, "resources": { "DEFAULT_PARTITION": { "used": { "memory": 0, "vCores": 0 }, "reserved": { "memory": 0, "vCores": 0 } }, "label-x": { } } } ] {code} And also for user: {code} ... "users": { "user": { "username": "wtan", "resourcesUsed": { "memory": "0", "vCores": "0" }, -- New Added Fields -- "resources": { "DEFAULT_PARTITION": { "used": { "memory": 0, "vCores": 0 }, "reserved": { "memory": 0, "vCores": 0 } }, "label-x": { } } } } {code} I think we may need to consider add something like QueueCapacitiesInfo and ResourceUsageInfo, which could be converted from a give QueueCapacities/ResourceUsage.
