That's  the  whole bit.. : ) Several more applications have a  problem with this  gcc..
Hence the original question ..is it like  any program ? can i update  without breaking 
anything ? 
There is  a  version 3 of gcc ..will RH give us packs that go along tat line  and 
correct  this situation ? 
Can gcc be taken off the web and replaced safely without recompiling  etc.. by a 
better one ? 
The  problem is real but i have not received a single comment on how to solve this .
Any help will be appreciated.
