It is going to take much more than that to make 200 crank hp out of a GA.
It is posible but it will take some custom work. The JWT cams are not going
to be full race cam, but hot street cams designed to be the maximum that the
stock valve springs can take. To make that much hp, you will need rev's and
really hot cams. The car will not be very streetable either, figure very
little power below 4500 rpm. Since no one makes these sort of cams for the
GA, then they must be engineered, figure about $3000 for a consultant fee,
$1000 to make a master, etc... Then a few more grand to engineer retainers
and valve srings. You are not going to make this power with cheap regrinds,
no matter what the grinder claimes.
You will need compression also. It is very hard to make more than 11.5:1
work on pump gas and you will need more than this to make 200 NA hp. I hope
you are not planning to run this on the street. It will also take more than
just minor headwork.
My SR makes a little over 200 crank hp and is on the edge of being
streetable with pump gas, with acceptable low end torque with 400 more cc's
of engine displacment. A 1600cc will be much harder to do this with. Ask
Bob Legere who is the leading expert on building GA16's on this list.
I would sugest that if you are going to make forged pistons and rods, them
forget the sheetmetal manifold and do a low compression bottom end and go
turbo. This will be doable and very streetable with the potential to make
much more than 200 hp.
