Before my "theories" are completely debunked here, I wonder if anyone as
a remote control for their head unit?
If so, go out to your car, turn the radio on as normal, then (with the
car left on) turn the deck off by using the remote, keeping your eye on
the little LED light that indicates power to the amp. Even if your car
does not make a sound, the LED light will probaby go off after the deck
turns off, or at the very least it will fade off. If this happens, then
it will back up what I am saying about a "lag" time.
If the amp were to truely turn off at the same time, the LED would
immediately turn off with it, correct?
I also have this lag in my stereo, but it is with power-up, not shut
down. The rear speakers of my sound stage (that are hooked to the rear
channel of my deck) are clearly audiable before my other 6 speakers
(front sound powered by my Clarion amp). When I had my EQ hooked up, the
lag was even longer.
These are all high quality componants too: Clarion kicks and amp,
Pioneer deck and rear fill, and JL Audio mid-bass. All Stinger wiring
too (except the 4 gauge Streetwires power & ground wires).
Try out the LED test...let me know what happens. I've never, never,
never had a system that didn't have a little lag somewhere in it, and
I've been doing this for a long time.
