Wow, I thought since the SR20 didn't have the VTC, the ECU would not support
the feature. I used to have the JWT ECU but it was for a manual tranny, and
unfortunate for me to have bought the car back new in 1992 as a automatic
never figuring I would ever modify it! Anyhow, the Reprogrammed ECU did run
the motor with the exception of the idle control because the manual runs a
bit lower than the automatic. I had to adjust the idle. The engine then ran
very smooth and lots of bottom end power with a good kick in the mid and top
end, with no rev limiter, I got scared because I thought I would push the
motor into the zone of no return. The rod bolts are weak in these things.
Only problem was the ECU did not have any way to control the torque converter
switches and so the tranny would not back off and it almost stalled. I only
paid 300 for the thing and I was pissed.
Just thought I would share a story
