I don't know because the GA16 is pretty undeveloped.  Bob Legere is the best 
guy I know of when it comes to building the GA16.

Generaly for a long term motor, street or roadrace/rally I would not lighten 
the counterweights much more that the reduction of piston rod weight.  I 
don't know about knife edging in this case.  I would bullnose (round off the 
leading and trailing edges of the counterweight) the crank to clean up the 
leading edge of the counter weights.

Knife edging is more of a drag racing trick on NA motors.  Personaly I don't 
do much crank lightening on my motors, just usally clean up the parting line 
flash, shotpeen, balance and cryo.

On SR20's I just balance them because the crank is so strong.  I guess if I 
was building a really serious SR I would do the bullnosing and cryo also.
