Since it sounds like everything else has checked out I offer this since 
it happened to me and was difficult to figure out.

Check the amount of play in the Rotor or remove the distributor and 
check the play in the slot,  I've had an intermediate shaft take a dive 
in the worn gears connecting gears driving the oil pump and the excess 
play make it miss fire and have unusual firing patterns.  Check it out, 
hopefully this helps, not the cheapest or easiest fix but....
