Cub, XP didn't come out until about 6 months after I got the new
puter. 38.7 GB HD, 384 MB RAM, 1.25 GB
Processor. $1400.00 w/no programs except Windows
ME. Apple tells me they can build me a better
machine for about the same money, 60 GB HD, 256 RAM, 2.0 GB
Processor, 6 USB ports. PLus all the programs, Word
Processor, Spread Sheet, Access, Photo, etc, etc. For an
extra $100.00 I can have the RAM increased to 512 MB.

RK,
Sounds like they blew a little smoke. I
have a 1GB processor and only 256mb of RAM. XP runs on it without
problems, so far.

Mark, I've got ME because when I had this machine built they
told me I had to have it because of the size of my processor, 1.25
GB. As soon as the market gets back to just
where it was two years ago it's "GOODBYE" PC "HELLO APPLE"

ME is the devil seed. The worst of every kernel
and more. Honestly, for home use, I would say 98SE or W2K for
the Windows platforms.

ME. My sister-inlaw is a puter programer/ miss puter fix-it for
a major computer outfit and she told me that they have taken ME
off ALL of their customers units and replaced it free with
either Win/Plus or XP. Guess what I got with my new
puter, you guessed it "ME". Apple here I come, as soon
as the markets come back that is. RK Manufacturer's of World

ShopTalk: Not golf - computers Techies, I used win95 on old
machine and had installed win95 "plus". Liked the extra
features and games. Now new puter has win2k pro. Can't find
a "plus" package nor a game pack for it. Any
suggestions? Does the XP version work ok on 2k?
Tia.
