Perhaps, for the benefit of those not into networking, I should have mentioned.....
To packet sniff, you *must* have at least a separate machine, acting as a router. Then with this machine, between you windows box, and the modem, you are able to capture and read the information that goes between your windows box, and the Internet. *Only* with such a (minimum) setup can you even see the packets.
