Ralph,

I did see the red unravel back when I first started using them but haven't seen much of a problem this past year.  Even the ones that did loose some red at first didn't loose too much.

Steve,

I have tried the Player's Sofftie one time and I wasn't too happy with them. A little firmer than I prefer and I was also disappointed that the red stripping on some of the grips I used would unravel and make the grip look ugly and not consistent with the rest of the set. No big deal for me but I would not want that happen to my customers.  I hope it was just an isolated problem that I had then.

Ralph,

I didn't see any replies. I can't say for sure but I am pretty certain they
dropped the original for the Player's Softie. I know my sales of the
original hit rock bottom once I offered the Player's Softie. I even quit
using the original. Play in the rain is the normal here in Hawaii and the
original was slick as a greased pig when it got wet. The Player's Softie
seems to hold up better. I figured it was just a matter of time before the
original was discontinued.

FWIW,

Cub

I have received the newest Golfworks and Golfsmith catalogs and they
only sell the Player's Sofftie grip. I looked on Golf Pride's website
and they are showing only the Player's Sofftie grip but still in their
descriptions refer to the original Sofftie grip. Which leads me to
believe they have discontinued this grip but have not updated all of
their descriptions on their webpage. Am I correct? If so, I am
disappointed because this was my favorite grip too.
