"My
solvent bottle has too big of a tip and I am hesitant about spending
the money for a grip shooter if there is something at Ace that works"
Yes, get a trigger oil can in the auto dept. Looks like a grip shooter!
Cost less than $4. You may have to file off the "nub" on the tip.
As for your solvent squirt bottle......... get rid of that! Get an empty soda pop bottle and a pump for installing auto fluids in hard to reach spaces (aren't they all)! Take the vinyl hose that is supposed to go on the tip to reach the hard to reach fill holes and cut off a piece to put on the end of the tube that goes into the soda bottle so the tuber reaches the bottom. Put solvent in the bottle, cap vent hole on the grip with your index finger, two or three pumps of solvent into mouth of grip, pour over grip tape, slide grip on. No need to shake grip, put down bottle etc. Tip: mount a coffee can on your bench in a convient spot for gripping operation and put the soda pop bottle in the can. Can't knock it over and it's always where you need it!
Yes, there are still some grips that you can't blow on with air like the lower grip of a two piece grip for a long putter!
