Tom F,I don't know if you have any golf planned for this trip, but the northern end of Michigan has many really excellent courses. Right there in Traverse City, you have a Nicklaus course and one by Tom Doak. I spent a great 10 days driving around that area 15 or so years ago and loved it. And there have been many more excellent ones added since then.
