Grande doesn't provide service in Austin yet.  They are moving in,
however, starting on the East side and expanding from there.

I have service with telocity.com and they're pretty cool folks.  I think
they make their own equipment so they really know what's going on.  The
modem/gateway will even place a call to their tech support on your behalf
if it has problems with its self-diagnostic!  The downside is that they
are a big organization based out of California and seem to be suffering
growing pains.  I have at least a quarter second latency and every packet
has to go all the way to Sacremento or something.

I'm thinking of switching to cable, which I've had before and had no
problems with.  I don't really want the cable TV, but even counting that
as part of the internet service cost, it's really not that much more than
DSL.
