Not to keep harping on this, but do you consider the LTTE to be Hindus
fighting against Buddhists? I know I see graffiti calling on the CM to
support "eelam an [sic] Hindu nation." They certainly predate the RSS.

I think the LTTE are trying to find a reason to exist. The tamil state
doesn't make much sense when their core support base (the tamils in
Sri Lanka) has either assimilated or fled the country over 20+ years
of conflict.

I found a lot of resentment in the non-Buddhist community against the
ever increasing power of the Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka during my
last visit. The LTTE is merely capitalizing on any grouse that can
bond them with a rebellious crowd.
