Dear list members, I'm a newbie here, and I'd like to have an explanation that maybe is stupid for you. I'm interested in making a colloidal silver generator according to Beck's simple circuit (3 x 9V batteries and a 24-volt 40mA bulb). All these parts are readily available here in Italy, but I need an explanation about silver electrodes. In the paper Beck advise to use 10" (inches) of pure (.999) silver wire "# 14" or "14 gauge (AWG)" as the preferred thickness. What does "# 14" or "14 gauge AWG" mean? As I'm not familiar with US units, could you please tell me the equivalent in millimeters of this gauge? In brief, how much should be (in millimeters) the diameter of the wire used as electrode? I need this info so I can find here the adequate silver wire. Thank you in advance. Best Raul
