That is very unfortunate. Dogs and all animals have a purpose.
If they cannot do it, they are soon worthless.

I guess you think that people who whip their children and make them

Discipline makes the child worthwhile, as it does dogs.
Both can become worthless to society and to themselves without proper

Proper discipline to children and to dogs certainly doe not make them not
love you.
I have not started to train my new dog. I am spending one month learning
his disposition and what is required.
I already know more about him than he knows about me.
He appears to be a genius. Honestly.
I cut a training stick and keep it in the truck. It is only slightly
larger than a switch you could use on a child.
I touched him very lightly on the head one time. Now, ........ I can show
him the stick, and he does the ONE Thing I intended for him to do. He
will take other lessons the same I hope.
And if anyone thinks he will love me any less, or I him, or he will be less
valuable, does not know anything about the value of dogs.
I know some people keep dog for companions and love them.
This does not mean they are worth one good bullet.
Of course the same is true with people.
No, I am not cruel, but more factual that most.
