Hi Everyone, Has anyone fired their doctor and had trouble getting the results of medical/blood work and their records?My doctor is so lazy I think I might be in for a battle. She is refusing to let me know the results of a blood test for my Thyroid until a month from now when I have an appointment with her. All I wanted to know was is if my test was fine for the dosage of Synthroid I'm on. It's why I went to her in the first place. She also gave me 2 prescriptions and the pharmacist said they needed to be prior approved by my insurance so that was the end of that. She didn't want to take the time to get the authorization. What a racket. As far as I know, I am not even certain that she has looked at my bloodwork yet (8 days later).
What I want to do is get my medical records and find a new doctor. I just am not sure exactly what my rights are pertaining to my own information. When you don't feel good the last thing you want to do is sit around for a month, waiting on a doctor to look at the tests you have purchased. My body temp is 97.5 this morning. I slept 5 hours last night and my hands shake. The wonders of modern medicine for those of us that have insurance. What a blessing, Paula
