Dear Pula:

Find a new doctor immediately and go in for an exam. Tell him/her the
problems. The new doctor's office will get your medical records with a written
consent note from you.

Report the first docotr tothe Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's
office and any other ofice you can think of. Visit your local town office
and ask for help and advice there.

Not all doctors are scum bags so find one you can trust, asking for help aslong
the way. It is certainly not impossible.

Subject: CS>Patient's Rights and Medical Tests and Records

  Hi Everyone,

Has anyone fired their doctor and had trouble getting the results of
medical/blood work and their records? My doctor is so lazy I think I might be in
for a battle. She is refusing to let me know the results of a blood test for my
Thyroid until a month from now when I have an appointment with her. All I
wanted to know was is if my test was fine for the dosage of Synthroid I'm on.
It's why I went to her in the first place. She also gave me 2 prescriptions and
the pharmacist said they needed to be prior approved by my insurance so that
was the end of that. She didn't want to take the time to get the authorization.
What a racket. As far as I know, I am not even certain that she has looked at
my bloodwork yet (8 days later).

What I want to do is get my medical records and find a new doctor. I just am
not sure exactly what my rights are pertaining to my own information. When you
don't feel good the last thing you want to do is sit around for a month,
waiting on a doctor to look at the tests you have purchased.

My body temp is 97.5 this morning. I slept 5 hours last night and my hands
shake. The wonders of modern medicine for those of us that have insurance. What
a blessing,
  Paula
