Hi Wayne,

If I knew when I was bitten, would have avoided the offender in the first
place.  I don't think you have a clue until it begins to react and in the
first instance, it was 2 hours from thinking it was a chigger bite, until
intense pain, swelling and no turning back.  The second time, I knew what it
was by comparison and ran to get treatment.

Only another person who has been bitten can emphasize with the pain, which I
can only describe as intense and throbbing.
