The confusion comes from mixing terms and not knowing it.

Both TDS meters and EC meters do the same thing, but a TDS meter uses that info to calculate PPM for "salt water" as roughly half the conductivity that both meters actually measure.
"Salt water" is not silver water.

Since the conductivity "number" is about the same as the PPM "number" after either meter bottoms out over time... in "silver water"....and the calculated PPM number is about the conductivity number doubled.. in any water.... then the PPM number doubled is roughly equal to the conductivity number, which is about the same as PPM silver, a comparison as determined by an instrument that can actually measure "PPM" [Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer ] which NO meter can do. Clear? [as mud..straight as snake speaking truth from both branches of its tongue.]

To resolve confusion, ALWAYS speak in terms of conductivity [uS]...not PPM..when dealing with silver water.

That means that those using a TDS meter [or a COM-100 in PPM/TDS mode] must de-convert their readings so they'll make sense when talking about "silver" and say "uS", not PPM.[even though they are about the same number after de-conversion]

Another term could be "uS/PPM" to indicate that either the de- conversion to conductivity was made, or, that it was measured directly and didn't need to be made. .. a lovers communication, pillow talk in the dark of night between "EIS/CS" and "uS/PPM"

That someone else I'm fooling around with.... is you wearing a wig, honey. If you keep changing it, I'll call you Blondie one night and Red the next..so..what was your real name again? ..hard to to get the eyeballs past the cleavage to the name tag, ya know...and I don't read Braille bumps well enough to tell anything but that the paper it's on is about the same size and texture when the message is always the same two bumps that spell invitation. [Just because there are two boobs in this bed, doesn't mean that either of us is one of them. ]
