For cancer it is reported that cancer cannot exist in an alkalized body, and for kidney stones, alkalizing will result in uric acid kidney stones to dissolve. (If you have calcium type of stones, you are already too alkaline). My wife and I are drinking baking soda mixed with citric acid and added to our drinking water to alkalize. The nice thing about that is that it does not screw up your digestive system by neutralizing the stomach acid like baking soda does but is just as effecting in alkalizing.
