I have never read that soap in the bed is a placebo. It was explained as having something to do with alkalinity which is why it is necessary to use soap and not a detergent bar like dial.
Sorry it didn't work for you all. I have treated myself to some lovely French soap and when I get a spasm I just take the soap and lean it up against my body in the area. The only one it doesn't work so well for is a positional contraction of a muscle... that I take something called MinTran by Standard Process. Works very well for that kind of spasm. Placebos have never worked on me like they do with many. Ohhhhh that power of suggestion. Nothing else worked either, ie. mag oil on feet and calves or xtra potassium. But lately, I've done nothing and haven't had any cramps for a few months now, go figure. I had them at nite and when I was doing Pilates. Stopped Pilates due to increasing back pain. Ah, well! Pat ________________________________ From: PT Ferrance [email protected] If it happens at night I would suggest throwing a couple of bars of soap into your bed. No need to unwrap but it must be soap and not a detergent bar. I know it sounds crazy but it does work for many. When I use a product called First Endurance EFS (Electrolyte Fuel System) it helps a lot. But it's very expensive. Does anyone have any other suggestions for replacing electrolytes on a budget? -- Alan Jones "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
