Many will wonder what possible connection there can be
between our wonderful CS and gasoline or diesel fuel.
The reason either of these fuels goes bad ,sours or jelly is
bacterial action . Can we not mix a small amount in the fuel to kill the
bacteria. It will require some alcohol and a catalist as we used to use
in race cars to get it to mix . Some thing to be thinking about before
winter comes.
Terri - asked how to test distilled water to check purity . One
big ship I was Chief on we used a drop of silver nitrate to an 8 oz
.glass . If it stays clear it is good. If there any trace of a milky
cloud it shows evidence of salinity . In either case the test water
should be thrown out. Later on submarines we used the same test for
battery water. No one ever tested the Coffee.
