Well, no, Bob... The unit I use is 10,000vAC, HVAC, producing 23milliamps
at its peak output. An ordinary household circuit tester indicates no load
to speak of ntil the job is half over...but my rods are two-and-a half
inches apart... that probably makes quite a difference, and I do not
normally 'seed' it with starter at all, though I preheat and maintain at
60centigrade. There is practically no T.E. at 4 hours...my usual run-time.
It is colorless and I take no care with storing it at all. At 6 hours the
T>E> effect starts to show reasonably well, but I try to avoid overrunning
it to that level. The sample for ppm is on its way to a lab now that the
question has arisen. The RO dispensers here have two settings. One setting
leaves a lot of minerals in; the other takes out most minerals as well. The
pore size is .0006 microns. I doubt you would do better with distilled
which costs 4times as much here, but it is a matter of local convenience
There is not much point in running our well-water. I've done it a couple
of times, and the natural mineral content seeds it to about half the
run-time to the T>E> 04:39 PM 9/13/00 -0500, you wrote:
