With LVDC and current controls I find that water between 100 and 120 deg
F makes the smallest particle.
Cool water does not hydrate the ions well and agglomeration to yellow is a
common result. Too hot a water over 120 deg F seems to make the ions very
active and later yellowing becomes more common.
Increasing initial conductivity by warming the water or pre seeding...or
both...tends toward a lighter TE and fewer deposits.
I have observed an effect I call "patterning" where a tendency at the
start of a batch will tend to feed back and spiral increasingly through out
the run unless it is interrupted fairly early by stirring and cleaning.
Note the use of "tendency". Getting a consistant quantification has been a
study in frustration. Apparently, phase of the moon, the name of the song
playing on a strong radio station, gravitational shift, position of the
sun...who knows what?...all plays a part. I'll get 2 identical runs under
identical conditions and the third will be way off base even with Ole Bobs
mechanical stirring. [But nearly all will be very good within some range]
