Particle size is very dependent on concentration. When you start with distilled water, you get the smallest possible particles, and at the end of the run you are producing the largest particles. Seeding starts the process in the middle of the run, so that the smallest particles are never produced. I think the key to seeding it to seed very lightly if needed, so that the run is beginning as close to the start as possible. Use a teaspoon per quart or so maybe, instead of 25%.
