Dear Theo,

You said:

<<Catherine and others, What can we beginners believe? Where do we go for
the real truth and evidence that a product really does what people say it
does? Even here people don't agree, so who do we believe? I want to
believe all the good things said about Cs, that it can cure almost
everything but I know better, but what is the scientific truth? Right now
I'm trying to find real information about coral calcium. I'm lost ! >>

** You're watching the process of scientific discovery. Interestingly,
this substance is also available to the public if they are at least smart
enough to hook together a few batteries and attach some silver wire. Then,
you have those who have more knowledge and can create something more
sophisticated. What ends up happening is you get those with professional
scientific equipment reporting their findings, those with some scientific
equipment and good sense of the empirical, and those who have no science
background and make it or buy it, find it helps them with something, so
begin singing the praises of CS.

In one way, you don't have to worry about where the truth is for simple
everyday applications. It all works fairly well. When it comes to more
sophisticated applications, I'll go with those with the equipment, knowledge
and intellectual curiosity.

Some of the disagreement here right now has nothing to do with CS. It has
to do with marketing. There is also an element of competition involved.

There are several people here with a vast fund of knowledge about CS. It
doesn't concern me when some of them disagree. It does concern me when one
dismisses another's knowledge and work. I am less likely to trust what this
person says even though I may know that certain things they are saying are
correct. I would be less likely to trust other things they say that I
cannot investigate due to lack of equipment. When emotions enter into the
equation, they displace science and intellect. I feel I can no longer trust
what is being termed "science" under these conditions.

Ideally, the scientific community, both pro and semi-pro, would put aside
personality conflicts, marketing issues, envy, and other pettiness and work
together to provide solid information to the public. But it is seldom that
we get what is ideal. Ultimately, we all need to use our own discernment.

For me, for everyday applications, I'll go with something I can produce.
But if I am going to use it for more serious applications I will go with the
scientist who endeavors at all times to sort out the truth without needing
to insult or discredit others while in the course of seeking the truth.

It's no secret here that I am partial to Mesosilver. The science behind it
makes sense to me, and the knowledge and integrity of the scientists appeals
to me. Anybody who manufactures CS that is considered expensive (though of
excellent quality), and tells me a home set up with a fish tank pump used
for stirring can make a viable product (perhaps not appropriate for more
serious applications), even if it doesn't remain stable for long, is a
winner in my book.

That being said, there are several others here who have this level of
integrity. I trust them, as well.

Regards,
Catherine
