A bit off the wall to US readers, I suppose, but Japanese people love
their water-spraying toilets.   These spray jets of warm water on anus
and, I believe, for the ladies, the vagina as well.   These may be
available in outside Japan, though I do not know.  One maker is Toto. 
Females with infections might greatly benefit from these devices.   A
friend tells me they are good for those with hemorrhoids.  This is
on-topic insofar as prevention of infection is better than an ounce of
cure (CS).
