The fixture is called a "bidet" (pronounced bee-day from the french) and I
have found them throughout Latin America and Europe (and Japan, although not
nearly as off the wall as the inset floor level basin with raised foot
supports that substitutes for a normal toilet!) Probably more hygienic than
