Hi Jess, Several factors that I would consider & try if I had the problem: 1) NEVER allow yourself to get constipated; 2) drink lots of water & eat green leafy vegetables; 3) to soften stool, take a stool softener, such as Colace or generic over-the-counter product; 4) take 400 IU Vit. E by mouth and puncture 1 capsule, squeezing out & applying to hemorrhoids wearing a lubricated rubber glove or finger cot; 5) apply liquid aloe to area for soothing & healing; 6) I'd also apply wet dressings of CS with 20% DMSO.
