The Black Butterfly by Richard Moss MD a former surgeon turned healer, details his witnessing the spontaneous remission of cancer by one of his clients when she freed her soul of all restrictions, through dance. As well it details his own loss of personal boundaries, into a temporary semi-psychotic state. Upon asking his mentor, a Native American healer for assistance in his desperation, his mentor replied "That happen to me once too, you will get through it."
Seems to me that the only way out is through. Without forward movenment there is stasis and degeneration, including of the physcial body.
