Much of the craving for cokes is bound to be the sugar and the caffeine. But I think your notion about homeopathic traces of cocaine interesting. Although making a homeopathic remedy includes succusion, a certain type of shaking, that introduces a restructuring of the water, thereby encoding information about the substance being diluted.
It takes me at least 30 days to get off of sugar and stop craving it -- when I do Cokes taste like syrup. I think it must be due to the fact that your metabolism must change enzyme systems and detox. Caffeine addiction is part of it too unless you are drinking decaf cokes. Together they are a strong force. When I am tired it is so much easier to go for the sugar and caffeine -- getting enough rest is so inconvenient at times. But if you have read anything about adrenal exhaustion, how it can sneak up on you, you know that resting is very important, and most of us simply don't get enough sleep. Massey wrote a very good book about the sleep deprivation epidemic in our culture. On the chocolate and almond combination, I am right there with you, roasted almonds and good chocolate is hard to pass up some days. Both are loaded with Magnesium. I am told that one way to get over chocolate cravings is to include more Mg in your diet or take a supplement. I have not tried them myself but the colloidal minerals made from shale are suppose to be very effective. Concentrace is one highly thought of product. Of course who wants to lose such a wonderful craving? LOL Peanuts, even organic ones, often have undetectable amounts of mold on the shell, inside and out, by the time we get them. I was totally addicted to peanut butter and apples when I read about the longterm effects of consuming the mold toxins. At least this source believed it would ultimately result in Liver Cancer. That stopped me cold as I had been sick for 5 years from mold fume poisoning so I had a lot of respect for mold toxins. They are some very potent chemicals. Some of them are identified as known carcinogens. And mold starts to grow at 25% moisture, various temps, but one colony can become ten million colonies in 24 hours under the right conditions. I rarely even eat left over foods due to mold contamination. You may not see it but it is there, even after just a few hours, think how much is there in a couple days of sitting in the fridge. Many fruits have mold on them too, especially dried ones. Those sensitive to Candida often stop eating many foods that harbor molds, this is how I came upon the information. Allergies and Candida by Stephen Rochlitz PhD, a physicist who almost died of Candida over growth, is an excellent source of information on mold, candida diets and meridian balancing to get over the tendancy to get severe overgrowth. He believes this tendancy is traceable to not having developed the cross crawl resulting in poor integration of brain body meridians. A great read and applicable to many aspects of our health. Sunflower seeds, organic ones, are a favorite addition to waffles around here. I nibble on them cold if there are any left after breakfast. They are a great source of B vitamins. I feed the Black Oil Sunflower seeds for wild birds to my horses, whole in the shell and they really make a difference. I have gotten hundreds of people to use them with great feedback. One therapeutic riding center started using them with flax seeds (to balance the high omega 6 in the sunflower oil) and their old horses really perked up! Both are also good sources of trace minerals and protien, around 16-20%. But any seed or nut with a soft shell (high in water soluble fiber) can grow mold easily in storage, so small amounts of some fungiside may be used, can't be much or the birds would all die. But birds are also very susceptible to mold so it is a thin line. The grey striped ones have a harder less digestible shell so I don't feed those, and are more likely to have higher levels of fungiside since they are mostly targeted at the human market, and will be shelled. Just don't suck the shells (for the salt) like I used to when eating them as a kid! I wish I had been using Colloidal Silver when I was exposed to mold fumes and got such bad Candida. Maybe it would have prevented that part of the syndrome and I would not have been fatigued for 5 years -- of course the moldy houses I lived in did not help. And the awareness of mold related health problems had not happened yet. In fact I spent over 7 hours on the phone with the two head scientists of the Emerging Mycotic Diseases division of the CDC. They both were totally clueless about mold fumes, never mentioned them and in fact did not have any awarness of the health issues or the likelihood of mold to grow in many building, even new ones, unless properly ventiliated and humidity controlled.
