That's the point with worry too. And like your friend who was suprised at the definition of worry, once you know what you're doing, you don't have to do it, but if you do do it, you can enjoy doing it because then, it's done because it's enjoyed, not because it's a habit. Worry is sorta like a hobby or a sport..feels like something is happening, doesn't do much, but it keeps you busy and excited. Shadow wrestling? WWF World Worringing Federation? >It can turn into a job too, like body gaurd or CIA Chief. ;-)
What I discovered about running scenerios in endless repetative circles is that the ego is looking for a solution to a problem it thinks it already has and can be 'right' about. When it doesn't find it, it runs the same facts back through, over and over, with the idea that something different is going to pop out. It's not looking for an answer, it's looking for justification for the answer it has which doesn't fit anyplace. It's like NASCAR. The best lap time to nowhere wins. Noise, smoke and excitement. That takes horsepower! As NASCAR fans will tell you, going in circles real fast can be lots of fun. [Well, really it's the wrecks] After the brain crashes, it can get to sleep. If it seems impossible to stop worrying once you start a cycle like that, run it real fast and crash right away cutting straight to the inevitable. [mental martial arts] Brain chatter is not thought. It's the process that the ego uses to formulate thought into communication...which includes telling yourself convincing lies. Ego is a useful and necessary tool. It's what keeps people "tuned in" to a given bandwidth of reality perception. It's what does all the body and inter body communications, the 'agent' that makes seperating symbols possible by assigning comparative meaning to them. It's the tool that hammers out differences. A body can't exist without one. While it may 'appear' that the hammer is doing something, it's really the carpenter doing it. If that carpenter doesn't know anything about having a handle on a hammer...he may well think he IS the hammer and the noise that results from the strike, the thought that directs it. [a hammer wielding a carpenter?] Thumbs beware! If the ego is given an impossible task, [like telling it to process everything around it all at once] it can sit there and run while "you" go traveling ala OBE. Really crowded noisy rooms are actually great places to do that. "Quietness" is a real threat to ego what believes it is you and it will resist it. No input seems like certain death. If it doesn't get some, it'll make some up. In a really noisy chaotic environment, the noise seems to increase in frequency until it just pops out of awareness and off you go. Sometimes, though, the busy ego will forget to tell your body to breathe [program crash] and call you back in a panic. I think the 'silver cord' symbolizes that connection with the body as you travel that keeps things going while you're out of it. It can be infinite in length and a return instant, because spacetime has no set dimensions. We are taught from birth, the instant that eyes open, that the image is the original. From there, everything is seen upside down, outside in and backwards. It's no wonder we have trouble when living here. But then, maybe trouble is the name of this show of "Earth Follies" and we're doing... absolutely GREAT... slapstick comedy! I just find it hard to believe that we're as dumb as we think we aren't. We must be BRILLIANTLY stupid! Leastways, that's what we said when I accidently stepped behind the stage, out of character, for a moment. Could it be that alien entities have been hanging around from the beginning to laugh their rumps off?
