You can say that again. Please get your facts straight and don't add to the confusion that is beginning to proliferate from people mis-reading or half-reading these posts and this thread. > Lets see, I think it was about $10 to get my oxygen tank refilled. Not a lot of money.< No, but somewhere along the way you bought a tank didn't you; and a regulator didn't you? and some plumbing didn't you? Maybe you had these things already and if you did bully for you. Like I said, I had my compressor already so I used what was at hand. But Dan is talking about a complete purchase from scratch, and that is the gist of what is being discussed here. Don't confuse this issue with the cost of a refill charge. That is not what was being discussed. >Regulators don't just fall off, and if they did, nothing would escape because you always turn off the cut off valve before moving the tank, in fact you always have it off unless you are actively using it, so this makes no sense either.< What hat did you pull that out of? Who said anything about regulators falling off? I was talking about regulators FAILING to regulate, with full tank pressure suddenly surging forward. Sure it doesn't happen often, but it has happened. >I don't follow. Where would the acetylene or rust come from? Do you mean the tank? If there is any acetylene in the tank it would explode upon pressurizing with oxygen. It is impossible to put acetelyne in an oxygen tank accidently since an oxygen tank has left hand threads and an acetylene tank has right hand threads. As far as rust, you use a regulator that has a filter on it that will keep out all particulate matter.< Straight from National Welders to me: The reason welding bottles are not approved for breathing is the lack of a rustproof lining, which can and does allow rust to form inside the tank, and the possibility, however remote, of contamination with acetylene. The backwash, however little chance there is, can occur at the welding torch. Welding torches do screw up. Men have been killed and maimed by them. Contamination does occur. That is why you should never use a tank that has been used for welding. No one said a thing about hooking up oxygen and acetylene incorrectly. Yes I do know about the threads. As far as your contention about explosions, we are simply not talking about that much contamination. >It is not illegal to have an oxygen tank filled at a welding supply company. If it were they would not do it.< Wowee what a stupefying insight! And exactly when and where did I say that it was? Go back and read what I said in the context of the entire thread. >Thus far I have not found anything in your message that is based on fact.< Then I'm wasting my time with you. What started out with meaningful discourse has now been blurred by your now-well-known tendency to jump into a thread with your arrogant and condescending attitude and your penchant for contention. Until today I have successfully avoided crossing your path. For years I lurked here before I began to participate. I long ago learned to skip over most of your posts. >Fact is that neblizing with EIS and air works, and EIS with oxygen works better. For simple bronchitis either would probably be fine, but if I was dieing from pneumonia, I would go for the oxygen.< That appears to have a contentious tone. Once again, if you had read the entire context of this thread, you would know that there is absolutely no dispute about that from this corner. >One does have to be careful if using compressed air. May air compressors have oil in them, and the last thing you would want to do is introduce an oil spray into the lungs that are already under assault.< We covered that many times in this thread. Please don't bother me anymore. Daddybob -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver.
